A question of balance

fourth chapter of my personal trip around the Moody Blues . The same formation of the previous three albums, the band recorded in early 1970, "A Question Of Balance ", which will see the light in the summer of that year. From a formal point of view this is a disc perfectly line with their previous production, although the songs are a bit 'less (with) tied together. Standing between the two songs that insist on the concept of the album (" Question" and "The Balance "), the music unfolds with no particular peaks of composition, apart from the two tracks already mentioned, but the whole atmosphere ( mellotron, flutes, acoustic guitars, choirs and countermelodies) is pleasant and never monotonous. The first track, "Question " true backbone of 33giri, is one of the most famous (and beautiful) songs of the period. And there were plenty of good songs! Very different the last, "The Balance , a recitative with background music that is" open " in the end. With the help of a translation program of your choice (to RAOUL) are able to return the translated text.

balance [but also the budget (of life)]

After traveling,
And his feet were sore, and he was tired
,
came to a grove of orange trees and rested
.
It lay in a cool,
And while he rested, he took an orange and tasted it,
And it was good.
And he felt the earth against his back,
And he asked, and saw the tree above him, and the stars,
And the veins in the leaves,
And the light and balance.
And he saw a perfection magnificent
on which he thought to himself in balance [mental]
and knew of it.
Open your eyes only,
And you know, the way that has always existed. Open your mind only

And you will find that the way has always existed.

Open only your heart And it's a start.
And to those who thought he had angered,
Although he was not a violent man, And he thought
who had wounded
Although he was not a cruel man And he thought
who had frightened
Although he was not a bad man ,
And he understood.
He understood himself.
Beyond this he saw when he was angry or had known il dolore o provato paura,
Era accaduto perché non era stato compreso,
Ed imparò, la compassione.
E con questo sguardo compassionevole
Vide che i suoi nemici erano come lui,
Ed imparò l'amore.
E gli fu risposto.
Apri solamente i tuoi occhi,

Ci have left, though, these four unforgettable gems.

In 2008 this version was released CD, digitally remastered with 6 bonus tracks. A final note on

suggestive cover, again by Phil Travers. It was developed vertically, instead of from left to right, making it a bit 'strange opening to access the same vinyl. The design seems to have inspired even the famous television series "Lost . Or maybe it's the opposite ...
